Esther Duflo is a French-American economist and the Abdul Latif Jameel Professor of Poverty Alleviation and Development Economics at MIT. As a co-founder of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), she is a leading authority on global poverty. In 2019, she received the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for her experimental approach to poverty alleviation, becoming the youngest person to win the honor.
